I was reading the paper this morning and found out that one of my art heroes, Andrew Wyeth, passed away in his sleep early Friday morning. He lived a long life at 91, and his works will always be one of my greatest recent inspirations. If you don't know who he is...google it. His Helga series will blow your mind away, he is the ultimate master of the mediums, and my main inspiration for watercolors.

So the first amazingly hectic week has finally come to an end. After numerous schedule worries, everything has worked out for the better. or worse?

I am now taking classes with two chairs of departments, 2 of the hardest teachers at sva, and am sitting in on 2 extra classes as well.

When I went to my adviser to change some classes she said, "You know she's the chair of humanities, right?" "...yes." "and you know Klaus Janson is probably the toughest cartooning teacher at the school, right?" "...y-yes." "...is there something wrong with your head?" "...n-no..I don't think so..." I love the fact that even my adviser thinks I'm nuts. Fun times.

Regardless, I love my classes, new and old, and am really looking forward to this semester. I may be behind in Klaus' class, but I am quickly catching up and am finally ready to start pencilling. I hope. I know I wouldn't be this far without the help of my awesome friend, ~nerys's story. I'll post some of my prep work for this 21-page story here, like my expression studies. Actually, my blog would be your best bet for keeping track of me during this crazy year. lol
